Eating Disorders

My initial CBT roles focused on Depression and the Anxiety Disorders. In the past three and a half years, I have developed my experience in working with the Eating Disorders, having worked for an Eating Disorder charity and in an NHS Eating Disorder service. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a my main approach to treating these difficulties due to the evidence base for this approach.

I work with a range of Eating Disorders including the following:

Anorexia Nervosa
Bulimia Nervosa
Binge Eating Disorder

Due to the physical impact that these difficulties can have, I typically work closely with a Dietician and your GP to ensure your physical and emotional wellbeing. CBT aims to treat Eating Disorders by understanding the links between thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical symptoms. Iimage2 work collaboratively to set realisitic and achievable goals and to implement mangeable steps to achieving these.

Many of my clients also work with my colleague Claire Fudge at Nutricise (http://nutricise.org/). Claire is an experienced Dietician in the area of Eating Disorders. Claire and I work together to ensure a healthy eating plan and manage any anxieties around this.
